"I'm the Vacationista!"
In 1996, Christy and her then fiancée were trying to plan their honeymoon - a week in England and a week in France. Every travel agent she spoke to would ask her where she wanted to go and then hand her a brochure for an escorted motor coach tour, even when she said she didn't want an escorted tour. So she proceeded to plan her own honeymoon, working with a Rick Steves guide in one hand and an international calling card in the other. Upon her return from her honeymoon, she enrolled at the Giselle's Travel Academy to become a travel agent.
"I just felt like there was room for a different perspective in the travel business. People want to be listened to and advised, not just handed the first brochure that comes to mind, or talked into whatever pre-fab tour is easiest to book. And that is still my philosophy. My clients like that I listen to them, give them honest answers and advice, and work with them to put together the trip that best suits them, not what best suits me."
Christy has a love affair with all things warm weather and holds Specialist designations with Sandals Resorts, Hawaii, Mexico, Costa Rica and the Caribbean. She's a cruise fan, and has sailed with most cruise lines at least once.
As a graduate of the College of Disney knowledge, Christy has attained a special knowledge of Disney Destinations.
SECRET LOVE: Scotland! Christy is a ScotsAgent, and one of her favorite trips was following the Scotch Whiskey Trail, tasting single malts and blends throughout Scotland. "Scotland is amazing - the people, the history, the pubs...I love it!"
But that first trip to Paris on her honeymoon will always be her favorite trip ever.
